Chris was having a really productive day, delivering important packages on his Home Drop Delivery route, until engine trouble struck.

Hi, this is Charlie from Home Drop Delivery Services. How can I help you?

[Chris]
Hey Charlie, I need help. My truck broke down in the middle of my delivery run. The check engine light’s on, and I can’t get it started.

[AI agent]
I’m sorry to hear that. Of course I can help you. Before we get started, can you confirm that your truck is safely out of traffic?

[Chris]
Yeah. Fortunately, I’m parked in front of a house that’s on a side street.

[AI agent]
I’m happy to hear that. Your safety is our top priority. OK, let’s get you some help. Can you please provide your name and driver number?

[Chris]
Sure. My name is Chris Wood and my driver number is 59246.

[AI agent]
Thanks Chris. One moment while I look up your information. OK, I found you in the system. I can dispatch a tow truck to your location. If the driver can’t start your vehicle, they can tow you to a repair facility. I’m going to send you a text message with a link. This will let me determine your exact location. Let me know when you’ve received the message and clicked on the link.

[Chris]
OK, I just got the message. Clicked on the link. It’s showing my location on a map.

[AI agent]
Perfect. That provided me with the information I needed. Give me a moment while I dispatch the tow truck to your location.

[Chris]
OK. Thank you.

[AI agent]
All right. I submitted the tow truck request. The ETA to your location is approximately 30 minutes.

[Chris]
That’s great. Thanks.

[AI agent]
My pleasure. Chris, I noticed in your delivery manifest that you have some perishable items that still need to be delivered.

[Chris]
Oh, that’s right. I couldn’t finish all my deliveries.

[AI agent]
Of course, you didn’t expect that your truck wouldn’t start. We want to make sure those items still get delivered. I’m going to contact the closest driver near your location and ask them to meet you. You can transfer your remaining packages to them so they can get delivered today. Will that be OK?

[Chris]
Yes, That’s a good idea.

[AI agent]

All right. I sent a message to driver 7-4-8-0-2 Isabel Flores and rerouted her. Her ETA to your location is 15 minutes.

Chris was relieved that help was on the way and that his time sensitive packages would still be delivered on time. Charlie recorded the incident report in Salesforce. We’re using Salesforce for this demo, but our system can connect to any system with an API.
