The General Data Protection Regulation is a European Union privacy law that went into effect May 25, 2018. It has been years in the making and replaces the last major piece of EU privacy law from 1995: a time when Netscape Navigator was the browser to use, 3.5” floppy disks were the only way to save data, and kilobits is how speed was measured.
